Growing up on the icy plains of Manitoba, I spent most of my time as a teen reading comics and playing Dungeons and Dragons. Both of these hobbies taught me my storytelling tools that I now use as an author and creative writing instructor.
Unlike the creatures of the night of which I write, I live peacefully in the daylight with my Shih Tzu, Conan.
I published my first book in 2003 (Upon the Shoulders of Vengeance) and have since published two more, Rancour (2005) and Pyre (2007), with a fourth due out Christmas 2008. Rancour sold so well that a new edition will be launched for Fall 2008, and a comic book version is in the works.
I worked in children’s books for seven years, five of those at Vancouver Kidsbooks. Now I work full time as an author and a workshop leader, mentoring youth in creative writing. My weekly workshops through CWC, the Creative Writing for Children Society, produces books by aspiring young writers.
